August 2016 Challenge at My Creative Time

It's time for a fun challenge at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2016/08/mct-sketch-challenge.html
This is what I came up with for the challenge.

I started out cutting a rectangle using Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies.  Next I stamped the white rectangle with a stamp from Coffee Backgrounds.  I stamped and cut a cup from the Coffee Break set along with the kraft color cup sleeve which I stamped with a greeting from Teeny Tag Greetings.  I die cut the latte! from black foam using a die from All You Need Is Coffee set.  The foil balloons and the black bow were cut from the Stitched Party Dies set.  It was a manly card so the foil balloons were the only bling I added.

My Creative Time Challenge

Another fun sketch challenge!  Here is the sketch:

For some reason this sketch made me think of water and fish...this is what I came up with!

I tried to capture the sparkle in the Wink of Stella that is on the fish, wavy lines, coral and star.  I started with water coloring water color paper that I cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I colored it with Distress Inks, misted it and put some water drops on.  Then I got to work cutting with lots of dies and stamping the fish.  I love the bright colors.  A list of products used follows.

Challenge at My Creative Time

I like to play with challenges and so glad I played along with this one at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/  I used the berry theme colors and the sketch.  Here is what I came up with.

I started out with a white card base and then cut a kraft color paper with the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More.  Next I embossed the kraft card with the Classic Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder that makes me think of a basket weave.  I cut a window for my sentiment from some Hawaiian Shores color card stock from PTI.  For the berries I used the strawberry from All Around Goodies stamp set and colored them in with Crayola Markers with some Wink of Stella on top.  The leaf is from Stitched Leaves Dies.  The thanks is from the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More, to which I added some Wink of Stella.  The sentiment was a combination of stamping.  "You're So Sweet" was from Light The Candles set and the "Berry" was made using the Alpha Pack stamp set.  Maybe I should have used a nest of threads behind the berries, or a twine bow or maybe some sequins...I might have to add something later.  I had fun with the berry theme in the challenge!  Here is a list of products used.

My Creative Time Challenge

There is a fun challenge at My Creative Time.  For the challenge you can use a photo, color inspiration, a sketch or all 3.  I decided to go with the colors and sketch.  Here is a card I came up with for the challenge.

I have been wanting to use the Bokeh technique after seeing so many beautiful cards made by the design team at My Creative Time.  I used water colors in purple, yellow and orange.  After letting it dry I used Stampin' Up Whisper White Pigment Ink and a circle stencil I made using MCT dies to get the Bokeh look.  I cut an oval in vellum and then cut the Happy B-Day in black fun foam.  After the sentiment was in place I used Wink of Stella on it.  I cut a border strip using the Fun Stitched Edges.  The scallop edge looks like beads the way I cut it.  I added some clear sequins.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card.  I used foil cardstock for the balloons and tied them with Sulky Holoshimmer.  I also used the Fun Stitched Edges Scallop Die to make like a swag banner.  I then used Celebrate Good Times and It's All About You stamp sets, and stamped the sentiments to finish the inside of the card.  The following is a list of products I used.

My Creative Time Products:

Celebrate Good Times
It's All About You
Best Bots Forever
Stitched Party Dies
Tag Die Layers
Fun Stitched Edges
Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More
Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies

Other products used:
Papers by Papertrey Ink
Ranger Archival Jet Black
Foil Papers
Neat and Tangled Crystal Clear Sequins
Sulky Holoshimmer  Thread
Water colors
Stampin' Up Whisper White

I had a lot of fun making my card and I am happy with how it turned out.  Thank you for visiting my blog and taking a look.  I hope you liked my card for the challenge.

Here is a picture of what I came up with for the challenge.

I made this card for my Sister who has had some bad luck and broke her wrist and that is why the cast is on the puppies right arm.  The troubles for her continue as she will be having surgery on her wrist also next week.  I thought the little puppy would help cheer her up as she loves dogs.

I started my card with a stencil background of hearts that were from a stencil I made using the small hearts from Seasonal Greetings.  I inked it up darker to lighter.  I used a tag cut from Tag Dies using PTI Hawaiian Shores even though it looks green in the picture.  I will list the products I used at the end of this post.  I cute the puppy and cut the right leg in white for the cast.  I cute the dog house and stamped the wood.  I then cut a rectangle from scraps and circle to follow the sketch.  I used many stamps for the circle and inside.  I tied a bow using chocolate bakers twine before adding the sentiment circle and house.  I hope my Sister gets a laugh from her card.

MCT Challenge

It is challenge time at My Creative Time!  You can find the challenge here: http://www.creativetimeforme.com/  There is still time to play along!  Here are the challenge pictures and rules!

~ Create a project of your choice using the Sketch, Colors or Photo OR any combination of the three for inspiration.

~ Must use at least ONE My Creative Time product.

~ Deadline for challenge is on March 5, 2015 @ midnight PST.

I always need Birthday cards and my Daughter-in-Law has a birthday coming up and she loves cats, so I had to put one on her card.  I borrowed the window idea from Crafting With Katie at http://www.craftingwithkatie.com/2015/01/mct-inspiration-wednesday.html  I thought it would look cute on my card.  I cut the window using Square Stitched Goody Dies and stamped the sentiment through the window using one of my favorites, It's All About You stamp set.  I then stamped a pale yellow background using Peachy Keen Stamps Cat Background.  I stamped, chalked and fussy cut the cat with a Peachy Keen Stamp Cool Cats set.  I cut some balloons from Best Bots Forever and Stitched Party Dies, and stamped some using Watermark Resist ink and one in yellow.

Oh My!  The chalking glows in the picture but looks much softer in real life.  The Purr-fect sentiment is from Peachy Keen Cool Cats.  I chalked some brown around the cat to ground her some.  I added gold thread to the balloons and tied it to the tail.  I then added some clear sequins for a little bling.  I was going for the colors in the photo and sketch...the blue balloon does match, but looks green in my photo.  I had fun making my card.  Here is a list of products used.

MCT Products:

Square Stitched Goody Dies
Stitched Party Dies
Best Bots Forever
It's All About You

Other products:

Peachy Keen Stamps - Cool Cats

MCT Designer Challenge

My Creative Time has such fun challenges!  Here are the inspiration picture and sketch.

Here is my take on the challenge using the sketch, colors and heart love.

I cut out two hearts from the Heart 2 Heart Love Frame Dies.  It looks grey in the photo but the heart background is a tan with white hearts that was printed on my printer.  The card base is Chocolate PTI paper.  I cut the arrow from scraps of kraft and a pink stripe strip, from the 4X4 Journal Die + More die set.  I cut the white frame using dies from Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More set.  I like how the card turned out but still think it needs something more.  I had fun trying to come up with something a little different.  Below is a list of products used.

MCT Products Used:

4x4 Journal Die + More - the arrow
Heart 2 Heart Love Frame Dies - the hearts
Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More - the white frame

I hope you liked my take on this fun challenge.  Thank you for dropping by!
